AN OPEN LETTER TO FOREIGN MISSION BOARDS HELPING INDEPENDENT MISSIONS BUILD AND EXPAND CHURCH-SCHOOL BUILDINGS:

Post  Admin on Mon Nov 09, 2009 8:21 pm

DEAR PASTOR / MISSION BOARD DIRECTOR :

Sincere greetings in the mighty and precious Name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the head of our Body being One in His Sovereign Name!

"So now give me this hill country of which the Lord spoke...; it may be that the Lord will be with me." Joshua 14:12. Caleb knew what he wanted: 'Give me this mountain.' He didn't ask for an easy job. It was the most hilly part in the area, infested by giants. Israel's enemies were strongest here the most difficult part of the whole Promised Land to subdue and Caleb at 85 said 'Give me that.' Caleb feared no foe and desired no rest. There's a saying that a person of vision and faith does the most difficult thing now and leaves the impossible until later.

Fear looks at the problems, faith claims the opportunities.

In the spirit of this verse and Caleb's claim for his mountain, I too come to you to express a deep burden for reshaping our dream that came true years ago and now, the same place must take on a renewed bigger plan and attempt for God! Like 5 years ago, my wife and I decided to donate the house and lot properties where now the church-school at the back was constructed. It was a dream came true when in 2007 all the way from U.S.A., I came back to see the fruits of our labor as "seed" and we pray that it grows sufficiently to be of service to those who continue in their example of obedience to God and service to their fellow man.. Years went by so swiftly and we see the space is too small now for our growing school ministries.

And we envisioned another GREATER ATTEMPT FOR THIS PLACE, expand the lot where we shall house more rooms for our schools, more seats for our congregation, more floors, or nothing is impossible, we started praying for the vacant lot on the right wing of our missionary house. Rooms that maybe converted into something like (1) a space for a CAMPSITE! This is Baguio City, remember, the SUMEMR CAPITAL OF THE PHILIPPINES. This is where majority of Koreans preferred staying because of its cold climate, fresh atmosphere, refreshing breeze, and cool site - a perfect fit to forget the humdrums of life! Or we dreamt of these rooms becoming (2) a space for ESL TUTORIAL CENTER MAYBE in the whole of Baguio City! And (3) REST HOUSES FOR KOREAN MISSIONARIES OR OTHER FOREIGN MISSION CHURCH PLANTERS! AND ALONGSIDE OUR SCHOOL ROOMS, SAME SPACE FOR A STUDENT CENTER FOR NEARBY COLLEGES IN THE PLACE, and this means MORE SOULS WILL BE SAVED!

WHEW! This is too much for a dream, cuz IT COULD BE A DREAM LAND FOR ALL OF US, not only a DREAM COME TRUE TO OUR HIGHLAND TRIBESMEN, a BIGGER TUITION-FREE 4-YEAR COLLEGE COURSE and a CHRISTIAN PRESCHOOL! But, oh yeah but IT WOULD MEAN A CONVERTIBLE SPACE FOR CAMPS, ESL TUTORIALS, REST HOUSES FOR FOREIGN MISSIONARIES, STUDENTS CENTER FOR EVANGELISM.... Amazing! ALL FOR THE GLORY OF GOD!

I feel greatly blessed to be a part of the Body of Christ and am grateful, always, for the portion of Truth that the Creator has been willing to reveal to me and to my family. I am the beneficiary of His mercy and kindness. sO i MUST SHARE THIS BLESSING, And YOU, TOO MUST NOT DEFEAT THE GRACE OF GOD IN YOUR CAPACITY TO HELP AND FUND AND BUILD THE DREAM FOR ALL OF US!

It has been my personal observation though that over nearly 35 years of my involvement in the Body of God that one of the greatest failings of our tradition is shortsightedness. And that shortsightedness is made manifest by our lack of providing for the physical needs of those who come after us.

It is my hope and prayer that in this Body of Christ in the timely coming Kingdom of God that we will draw on the vast resource of wealth, knowledge, health and freedom that Our Father has provided us all who have the resources to channel these blessings and that we will build and expand this house that our children and their children can use and add to and serve their Creator and their peers for years to come, educate them, give them a decent living being God's sons. And that when our Savior returns, whether this life goes on for a thousand generations, or whether He comes quickly, we will be found "So Doing".

I CHALLENGE YOU GUYS TO PLEASE HELP REALIZE OUR DREAMS FOR THE GLORY OF GOD AND FOR THE SALVATION OF SOULS OF MANY PEOPLE! LET US HOUSE IN THIS SMALL MISSION HOUSE A BIGGER LOVE FOR THE MOUNTAIN PEOPLE AND FOR US, TOO, AS THIS HOUSE WILLL BECOME ALL OURS! AMEN?

Respectfully,

[font=Comic Sans MS]MISSION: By the grace of God, to invigorate workplaces, renew communities, and transform highland culture by helping followers of Christ to align the biblical worldview with their everyday labor and to experience God's pleasure at work. And to be able to offer them an education that is totally free from any financial obligation, offer them our tuition-free, 4-year colelge course that is 50% bilical Studies and 50% Commerce with some integrated program like Foreign Studies, Call Center & Office Procedures, Caregiving, etc. We shall also offer parents of every community a decent, US-vased curriculum preschool that they can afford!

VISION: To equip hundreds of people esp. the highlanders over the next 20 years, if Lord tarries His coming, to make intentional and relevant connections between the biblical worldview and their daily work. Help them find a decent job from where they get their subsistence and at the same time equip them in the Ministry of the Word!

STRATEGY: To provide teaching and training resources to churches, schools and businesses through live, electronic and printed means.

LIBERTY FAITH BAPTIST MISSION’S HISTORY

Post  Larry Tan on Wed May 26, 2010 11:28 pm

LIBERTY FAITH BAPTIST MISSION’S HISTORY
(To be read by Lovejoy Barut during the Groundbreaking & Cornerstone Laying
Ceremonies on May 9, 2010)

Faith Baptist Assembly started in the year 2002 in Ambiong, La Trinidad, Benguet by Manila missionaries Ptr. Larry Tan, Ptr. Jeffrey Ilagan and cousin, Carina Perez, not married yet. The original name was Endtimes Baptist Mission. After one year, the mission work moved permanently to Eagle Crest Villa, Bakakeng, Baguio City. It was during their 5th Church Anniversary in 2007, that they thought of starting a mission church. We now believe, it did not materialize for the simple reason that it’s not God’s time yet, as Faith Baptist Assembly is into their newly opened church-school ministries of a preschool and tuition-free Bible college for out-of-school youths. It was only this year, 2010, that we saw the hand of God made it possible when Ptr. Larry Tan launched our “Missions Breakthrough” and learned from his adoptive cousin, now Sis. Carina Ungson, from USA, that she gave the go signal for our mission to use this lot where we are standing at present. She said, she got no intention at all to go back to the Philippines and in the event that she visits the place, she is requesting that she may stay in one of the rooms of the sanctuary by the time it would have been constructed already.

On February 21, 2010, pastors Romy Bulong and Larry Tan and other female workers went to visit the lot in Balacbac to pray for the lot and God’s future provisions. When they got there, they saw Liberty Bible Baptist mission just a house away from this lot and plans for mission’s work was a bit delayed. They talked to their workers and learned that eventually the lot may be sold by the owner or they will be charged with a monthly rental few months from said date. Our Faith workers saw a problem in that situation but God meant it for good! Months passed and there was a certain Sis. Faith who went to Pastor Tan’s residence looking for a bed space only to learn that her family and the pastor of Liberty Bible Baptist Mission are friends. And this was the beginning of the Master’s hand to move the hearts of both ends. Amen because just at the perfect time that Bonchic, a very popular Christian business establishment, helped their missions work together with their Gate of Wisdom College of Baguio 1st Graduation Rites guest speaker, Mrs. Joan Rynders. We know that in God’s time, this most prayed about mission work will rise for a testimony for the glory of God as both missions are independent! It is God who builds His own House and uses channels of blessings in myriad ways! Because the cornerstone and the foundation is our Lord Jesus Christ!

On the other hand, Liberty Bible Baptist Mission is constantly praying for their pioneering work which started on October of 2006 at Upper Crystal Cave, Baguio City under the authority of Liberty Bible Baptist Church of Asin. The Missionary pastor is Ptr. Melchor Dumaniw assisted by his wife, Sis. Joy and son, Joshua. Eventually, others helped him in the persons of Bro. Marvin Dumaniw, sis. Gelvy Morla, sis. Gina Dumaniw, Sis. Maine Dinulong, Bro. Nebon Sanoy and sis. Anie Banihon. In the year 2007, the work moved to where it is located now. And the first families are Bugataw, Dulnuan, Aguad and Legaspi. The Lord has been so good, that just some few text exchanges between two of the pastors of Faith Baptist Assembly and Liberty Bible Baptist Mission, the Lord Jesus Christ showed them the path that we see today in partnership with this Groundbreaking and Cornerstone Laying ceremonies! Both church pastors and workers from the same churches met on May 2, 2010, and agreed together in many ways for the furtherance of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ! Praise God from whom all blessings flow. The church mission was named Liberty Faith Baptist Mission. And soon, the Lord’s sanctuary, God’s house shall rise on this site partnered by the mission works of both Faith Baptist Assembly and Liberty Bible Baptist Mission!

Nobody can deny that God has brought us a long way. Thank you for your support and participation in Liberty Faith Baptist Mission’s Groundbreaking and Cornerstone-Laying ceremonies. While some have gone from labor to reward, HOPE AGAINST HOPE, FAITH TO ANOTHER MOUNTAIN OF FAITH, we are truly blessed to be a congregation that is “ALIVE AND WELL.” GOD BLESS! Remember, we still need your constant prayers, this is not the end of it all, but just a beginning of looking forward to how the Lord will give us this mountain that we have been praying for! Our FAITH will grant us the LIBERTY to shout to the world, “THIS IS GOD’S WORK, WE ARE MERELY HIS WORKERS! IN HIS TIME, HIS SANCTUARY WILL RISE HERE!” Amen?
